Before you start

  • Your page, a YouTube video or your textA sales page, a services page, a home page, a video with captions, or pasted notes.
  • Your media contact detailsOptional: anything missing becomes a yellow [ADD] box to fill before you submit.
Every fact is checked against your page: a number, date, award, partner or customer it does not mention is refused. Quotes are drafts for your spokesperson to approve.
PART 01

Write the press releases

0 of 5 done
  1. Open the Press Release WriterAt pressrelease.ahastudio.net, or press Start something new on your account page and choose Press releases.
  2. Add your seedIn Your page or video, a link to a page or a YouTube video. Or paste the text under Or paste the text. Both work together. Pick What is it?: an article, a video (a YouTube link or a pasted transcript), a services page, a product page or a sales page. A video or article leads with commentary and expert angles; a product or sales page with launch and offer angles.
  3. Choose how manyHow many press releases: 1 to 10. Each gets its own angle, never two the same: a launch, a problem solved, a free offer, an event, expert commentary, tips, a local angle and more. A partnership or an event angle is used only when your page mentions one.
  4. Add your detailsCompany, spokesperson, media contact, city and country, the release date, and a Page to link to with its Anchor text for a deep link. Members can press Fill from my website: it fills only the empty fields, with what is written on your pages.
  5. Press Write the press releasesThe steps tick off: your page read (robots.txt respected), the facts pulled out, the angles planned, and each release written and checked. A step that fails says why and has Retry; Continue nudges a run that has not moved.

PART 03

Submit for free on PR sites

0 of 7 done

What it does: posts a written release to 12 free press release sites, plus 2 that are free once, each with its own version, and the Aha helper fills each site's form. You sign up, solve any CAPTCHA and press Submit on each site yourself.

  1. Make a version for each siteOn a written release press Submit for free on PR sites, then Make a version for each free PR site. The cost shows before it starts. Each site gets the same facts in new words, fitted to its form (headline length, summary, text length, links and keywords), so no two sites carry the same text. Every version gets the same checks as the release: no number, quote or claim your page does not have, and the quote stays marked as a draft for your spokesperson to approve. A version that is too close to another is written again.
  2. Add your YouTube videoOptional: add it in Your YouTube video on the form, or on the Submit for free panel. A site that takes a video gets it (paste your link into its video box); a site that welcomes a video link gets it as its own line in the text. Add your video, and put just one link in the YouTube video's description: the page you want to rank. No video yet? Make a video with Video Editr.
  3. Get the Aha helperDownload the Aha helper, unzip it, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, press Load unpacked and choose the folder. Pin it and click its icon: it opens on the right of the page and stays there while you move from site to site. It asks Chrome for the free PR sites only. Tick I have installed it in Aha Studio.
  4. Sign up on each sitePress Open sign-up where a site needs an account. Each row says how hard the sign-up is and what to expect. The helper never creates accounts and never types a password.
  5. Fill and submitPress Open submit page (or Fill with the Aha helper), then Fill this form in the helper. It fills the fields it finds and lists the rest with Copy. Check every field, delete the draft quote note once the quote is approved, solve any CAPTCHA and press the site's own Submit button. Prefer to do it by hand? Show the fields to copy has a Copy button for each field.
  6. One-time freeEIN Presswire's free trial and IssueWire's first release are free once only, so they sit apart under One-time free: "Use once. Save these for your best news."
  7. Tick Submitted, then add the linkTick Submitted for each site. Once the release is live, paste its address and press Save link: the link checker then watches it every week with your other published links.

Honest expectations: free sites vary a lot. Approval can take days, some sites need email or phone verification, and a site can turn a release down or archive it later. Most free sites mark links nofollow. In our experience they still help: they send visitors, get your page found faster, and press release links have helped our pages rank, especially with a YouTube video embedded. No site can promise rankings, and neither do we.

PART 04

Ideas from your website

0 of 2 done
  1. Press Suggest press releasesMembers add their home page. Its robots.txt, sitemap and up to 8 key pages (products, services, tools, free resources, events, case studies, about, articles) are read politely, then the releases your site supports are suggested, the most newsworthy first: each with its angle, why it is news, the page it links to (a deep link, not only your home page), a headline and the anchor text. Nothing is newsworthy unless your page says it.
  2. Bank, dismiss or writeBank it keeps an idea under Banked; Dismiss hides it; Write this writes the release with that page as the seed and the deep link, and the idea moves to Written. Scanning again never lists the same page and angle twice.
